The EU has banned testing cosmetics on animals

It is finished. On March 11, 2013 in the European Union comes into force a law on the absolute prohibition of the testing of cosmetics on animals. This means that it is now in any country of the European Union can buy cosmetics, do not hesitate in its ethics.

Measures introduced in phases, starting with the ban on testing some ingredients - cosmetic giants gave sufficient time for the introduction of alternative testing methods. The law applies to all kinds of cosmetic products - from soap powder to lipsticks and blush.

Also, a law banning means that cosmetics, which will be sold in the EU, can not be tested or in Europe or anywhere else. Previously, many companies are ethical for Europe, however there is a compulsory tests on animals to enter the market in China - there it is governed by the law of the inverse. Now these companies have heavily - or they have to give up the Chinese market, or from the European. These include, for example, Estee Lauder (and all subsidiaries: MAC, Clinique, Bobbi Brown et al.), L'occitane, Avon, OPI, and others.
Huge contribution to this law has made the organization and Cruelty Free International company The Body Shop, which is known for its ethical approach to the production of any cosmetic products. The struggle for the protection of animals began in 1991 with the participation of ECEAE, and two years later they were joined by The Body Shop and headed by Anita Roddick, collected millions of signatures in defense of animals.
We can only hope that the rest of the country (which, unfortunately, the majority of) the supervision of the European experience and also abandon the cruel beauty.
