Klumpyay (also klumpes) - in the western regions of Lithuania traditional national name shoes, which is a kind of wooden shoes backless and with upturned noses. They are made from different kinds of wood: birch, poplar, beech, willow. Such shoes, different design and name were widespread in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Sweden, Lithuania. Klumpyai were mainly representatives of the working class. Today, these shoes are a popular souvenir.
