Shemiz

 Shemiz, shemize or shmiz - shirt or tunic of linen. At various times, the word means male or female undershirt dress straight cut, slightly flaring. Dress-shemiz came into vogue during the French Directory and quickly gained popularity in Europe. These dresses were made of thin translucent fabrics - silk, muslin, linen, mostly bright colors. These toilets have a deep neckline and short sleeves. They were worn without petticoats that the fabric hugs the body, creating the effect of underwear. Variation dresses shemiz was in vogue in the 20s of XX century - this outfit looked like a straight jacket length just below the knee. Today, these dresses periodically appear in fashion collections, but the term "shemiz" is used infrequently.
