Kitaika

 Kitaika - thick silk fabric, Import in pre-Petrine Russia from China. Later the same name was a completely different matter - cheap plain weave fabric, often blue. Its manufacturer specialized several provinces. The volume of production has increased so quickly that the Russian Kitaika began to weave not only for internal use, but also be exported. In Russia, the cotton material is widely used by the peasants - it was one of the few types of fabric factory. From her sewing sweaters, holiday sundresses and skirts, scarves and shawls. Today, the term is almost out of use.
