Shapoklak

 Shapoklak or Gibus - type male headdress, folding cylinder. Was invented in France in 1823 and quickly became fashionable. Externally Gibus resembles a regular cylinder with narrow, slightly curved margins and a high crown. The secret was hidden steel spring mechanism inside the headdress. At the request of the owner of the high hat can be easily folded into a flat pancake. This transformation was very convenient for visiting the theater and other public places. Gibus can be folded away under the seat or carry in your hand. Gibus manufactured from durable silk dark shades and were mostly with evening dress. By the beginning of XX century folding hats went out of use.
