 Marengo - black fabric with white elements to be added using the melange (white) fibers. When viewed at a distance such fabric has a gray tint, so-called "color dark navy." Name appeared due to the Italian village of Marengo, on further versions differ. On one of them the same color pants were Napoleon during the "Battle of Marengo", held in 1800, and the other Bole prosaic: the fabric has these properties, it was made in this village.
