Sholom

 Sholom (Shelom, helmet) - Helmet spheroconical shape with visor and nanosnikom in ancient warriors. Its structure allows to avoid direct saber blow to the head, as it just slides off Sholom. Were part of the military equipment as commanders and ordinary soldiers. It is considered that spread from the East (such helmets are often found on Assyrian pictures), later in the XI century. becoming popular not only in the Russian lands, but also in Western Europe. In the mass consciousness because of entrenched way of Russian hero or a warrior of ancient Russia.
