The modified fiber is a modified and improved in a number of fiber properties as compared with its principal type. After processing, it starts to have greater durability and flexibility. For the first time the modified fiber was prepared in 1958 in the USA by Goodijear Tire and Rubber. Its industrial production is based on a polyester resin composed of ethylene glycol and acid. Forming thread takes the form of a crimped tow and staple. Depending on the added polymer modified fiber is used for the manufacture of very different tissues. For example, from spandex, lycra, acrylic sewn underwear. PVC fiber distributed in the manufacture of embossed fabrics, artificial leather and knitwear.
