The word "chokha" comes from the Persian language, and literally translates as "matter for clothes." In the Georgian language chokha called "talavari."

Lightweight comfortable chohi relished at different times to the Turks, Cossacks, Azeris and even Russian. In this case, each country had its own name chokha (Circassian, Fache and others).

It is considered that chokha worn only by men. However, in some parts of the country such sew clothes for women.

Czocha is a tight garment, narrowed at the waist, with a free drop-down hem. Previously it was made of camel and sheep wool, now can be found chohi cotton or synthetic fabrics.

Czocha adorned with decorative inserts on the chest to the waist buckles, silver accessories on the belt. A mandatory attribute of a sword or dagger appeared. Decorative elements were chohi and long sleeves that can, if necessary, to pick up his shoulders like a scarf.

Chohi traditional colors - white and black. It is also often used gray, burgundy, blue.

Nowadays chokha can only be seen on national events, weddings, funerals.
