Kumach - inexpensive cotton fabric bright red color. Was popular in the XIX century among the lower class of people - especially the peasants and artisans. This fabric was one of the few factory fabrics, woven from imported raw materials. Red shirt, scarves, skirts and sundresses considered formal attire and looked particularly elegant background for homespun things soft tones. On a red background looked nice embroidery, ribbons, braids and beads. Kumach produced until the 20s of XX century, this fabric is now out of use.
